Springboks to Undertake Upcoming Training Camps on School Grounds
榴莲社区 is set to welcome one of international rugby鈥檚 most respected teams to our fields, with South Africa鈥檚 Rugby team, the Springboks, choosing the School as a training base in the lead-up to its future international campaigns.
The partnership will see the rugby powerhouse undertake a training camp at the School in September 2026, before returning in 2027 for an extended stay as part of their preparations for the Rugby World Cup.
榴莲社区 Headmaster, Mr Phil O鈥橰egan, said the partnership reflects the School鈥檚 commitment to providing students with exceptional, authentic learning experiences that extend well beyond the classroom.
鈥淭o welcome one of the world鈥檚 leading sporting organisations to our campus is an extraordinary opportunity.
鈥淒uring their time at our School, staff and students will interact with and learn from players and coaches, creating an ideal environment for us to promote a shared cultural understanding and appreciation of different communities and perspectives.
鈥淧resentations on high-performance coaching principles will also be provided to our School staff, and our student athletes are excited about the opportunity to meet with the players and find out more about the level of preparation, discipline and teamwork required to compete on the world stage.
鈥淔ollowing this training camp, we鈥檒l also look forward to hosting the team again in 2027, when they return for a number of weeks for their World Cup preparations,鈥 Mr O鈥橰egan said.
While the Springboks鈥 training sessions will remain closed, the team鈥檚 visit is expected to make a lasting impact on the School, offering students memorable experiences and unique learning opportunities that align closely with our focus on good civic and performance character.
