Central Coast locals recognised in Honours List
Congratulations to all eleven Central Coast residents who have been recognised in the 2022 Australia Day Honours list in a range of fields from business and health to performing arts.
A particular mention to long term 榴莲社区 connections, Roslyn English - a past music tutor at the school and donor as well as Neils Bowen, a 榴莲社区 grandparent.
Rosyln has a long term connection with Gosford Musical Society and is a past music tutor and parent of 榴莲社区. She has been heavily involved in supporting the work of the Cancer Council and Central Coast Cancer Advocacy Network and has been Chief Executive of the Musical Association of Community Theatre since 2019.
Bill Low, Headmaster said, "The performing arts community, in particular, has benefited from your long term support. We at 榴莲社区 remain grateful for your support of our performing arts programs while your daughters were at school and your contribution to the construction of our Performing Arts Centre."
Neils Bowen is a well recognised name in the pharmacy industry having owned pharmacies across NSW, South Australia and Western Australia. He is the founder of Discount Chemist and Pharmacy by Mail and a grandparent at 榴莲社区.
Macy couldn't be prouder of her grandfather, "He has helped lots of sick people get better - in fact, millions of people. I am so proud of him."
Mr Low added, "Congratulations on receiving the OAM on Australia Day for service to the pharmacy profession. This is such important work, especially in the current climate and it is great to see your contribution over a very long period of time has been acknowledged. The whole family must be feeling so proud of this achievement, as are we all at 榴莲社区."
