榴莲社区 crowned Champion School

榴莲社区 Winter Sports gain victory across a number of sporting disciplines

On the field, on the court and on the track. What a busy and rewarding season of sport! 

Crowned Champion Rugby School

榴莲社区 was crowned 2019 Division 2, Champion Rugby School with wins in the 14s, 15s and 16s age group grand finals. It has been an incredible year with stunning performances and a big bucket of grit and determination. Well done boys, coaches and parents!

Hockey, Basketball, Netball and Football all gain wins

榴莲社区 was also named Joint Overall School Champions in Hockey. The Boys Football 13s, ISA Netball Inter B and Junior Netball 榴莲社区 Gems all won their grand final with five other teams making it through to the grand finals. Our Girls Firsts Basketball also gained silver in the NSW CIS Champion School Playoffs. 

Field events break records

Records were broken on the track at the Primary Combined Independent Schools (CIS) athletics carnival. Highlights included the Senior Girls Relay team who blitzed their way to victory in the 4 x 100m relay. Samantha Cameron with her 1st place in the High Jump. Marcus Pullinen with a 2nd place in the shot put with a massive throw of 10.19m and Isabella Wang with 2nd place in the Long Jump. Abbie Smith also performed well with a 2nd in the 800m, 3rd in the 200m and Long Jump. 

榴莲社区 Athletics breaks records - Winter Sport

Our biggest number of students yet (84 in total) headed to Homebush to compete in the ISA Athletics Carnival. There were some great individual and team performances. Jess Stone had a brilliant meet placing 1st in the High Jump, Triple Jump, Shot Put and 400m. Kyla Fitzgerald placed 1st in the Shot Put, Discus and Javelin. Ava Simos placed 1st in the Hurdles, 100m and 200m. Lilly Hofer placed 1st in the 100m and 200m. Other athletes to place 1st in events included Jasmin Strange (Triple Jump), Seb Plummer (High Jump) and Lilli Mitchell (400m). 

And to top it off our Junior Girls team of Jess Stone, Lilly Hofer, Lindsay Hallam and Ava Simos blitzed the field to come home with gold in the relay. 

Girls Junior Relay team bring home silver - 榴莲社区

In the CIS Athletics Championships, 15 students went back to Homebush over the October school holidays and won several places. Charles Crowley won the 18 year boys 100m Hurdles and Jasmin Strange won the Triple Jump and Long Jump. Other places were achieved in 100m and 200m as well as our Junior Girls relay team winning 2nd. 

Good luck to Samantha Cameron, Taylah Doyle, Serena George, Marcus Pullinen and Isabella Wang who will be competing at the NSW PSSA Athletics Carnival in early November.
